Overview
This page highlights some of the most used options for narrowing your search to help you find more relevant resources. It also shows you how to view additional details about an article and how to access or request the full text.
Narrowing Results
As shown in the image below, you can limit your search results in several ways. Some of the most popular options include:
- Publication Date
- Source Type, such as scholarly journals or books
- Age, Gender, or Population discussed in the articles
- Methodology, such as empirical studies or literature reviews
These filters can help you focus your results and find the most relevant sources for your research.

Viewing Results
On the search results screen, click the title of an article to view more details and access or request the full text.
- The article title appears with the authors, journal name, volume and issue (if available), year, and page numbers.
- The abstract offers a brief summary of the article.
- As you scroll down, you’ll find more details such as subject terms, author information, and the article’s DOI.
4. A few notes about the Tools options:
- To save a link, always use the Permalink tool—don’t copy the URL from the top of the browser.
- The Email, Print, and Save buttons only apply to the abstract unless full text is available on the page.
- The Cite button provides a basic citation, but you should always double-check it for accuracy before including it in your assignment.
How to get full text

When you see a "Find full text" button, click it to access the full article. If the article isn’t immediately available, you'll be directed to a Search@UW record page. Sign in to your UW-Green Bay account and use the "Get it" button to request a digital copy through interlibrary loan.
