Find an article by topic
-
Enter keywords on the topic you are interested in. On the search results page, choose Articles (or other appropriate type) under Resource Type to eliminate unwanted material types. Choose Newspaper Search if you know you only want to see newspaper articles.

-
If you are looking for scholarly or peer-reviewed articles, select the Peer-reviewed Journals option to limit your search results.

-
Select the title of an article, then scroll down or select Details to read the abstract and additional information.

Find a specific article
-
Search by searching using any details you have about the article, especially the DOI, title, author, or journal name.
-
In the search results, select the article title. Then scroll down or select Details to confirm it's the one you're looking for.
-
If you don't see it near the top of the list, try narrowing your results by choosing Articles or Newspapers search under Resource Type.

-
Still can't find it? Click “Expand your search to include items you can request from other libraries” above the results list. This shows articles we don’t have immediate access to, but you can request them for free.

View the full text of an article
By default, most articles in Search@UW are available for you to immediately view online.
Some articles will have the option to view them instantly from the results page. Select Download PDF if it is available.

Otherwise, select the title of the article or Online Access to find the full-text options.

-
Look under the View Online heading, and select the first link that begins with View now. If prompted, sign in with your UWGB username and password. After being redirected to the database, look for PDF, full text, or HTML options to view the full article.

-
If the first link under View Online doesn't work, try the next one or ask a librarian for assistance.
Request an article
Sometimes you may not be able to find the articles you need within UWGB's online collection. You can expand your search to include articles that you can request via interlibrary loan, at no cost to you.
-
On the search screen, select the UWGB and Requestable Items scope.

-
Articles that are not immediately available will have Request this item below the publication information. Select that link or the title of the article.

-
Click on For more accurate results, please sign in and enter your UWGB username and password.

-
Select the Get It option to receive a digital copy:

-
Scroll down and click the Send button on the auto-populated form.

- You will receive an email when the article is available for you to download. Article requests generally arrive within 1-3 business days, though they may take longer or shorter than that.
